This painting is based on a number of photographs I took of a young buck near my home. I never grow tired of wildlife and somehow feel the same charge when I spot a deer. This guy hung around for weeks but I haven’t seen him in a while.

What a beautiful painting, you’re a master in portraying animal subjects to perfection and your skills land even more beauty to them. Wonderfully done!

I love your style – almost like seeing a mirage. Not only do I admire your technical aptitude but you bring a soulfulness to your work and your affinity with animals shines through.

Thanks Deborah, I like imagery that isn’t entirely there and have thought of it as a mirage… no one else has ever commented on that! Thanks for your kind words.

You’re welcome … name for potential solo exhibition? 🙂

Good question… I keep writing down phrases that sound intriguing and echo the show. “Shadows of the West” is one idea. What do you think?

I like it! I think it keeps it broad enough with regards to subject matter/paintings included in the show but gives a sense of cohesion by referencing the style of your work that will be in the show.

I like how you’ve captured this one… I especially like the stance and the triangular shape of paint coming forward from the back leg. This little bit of paint is intriguing and I feel adds a lot to this piece although I can’t tell you exactly why.

I also like those odd forming bits of paint that break the form.
