This one feels like a special painting. I haven’t decided if it should be part of my solo show or a group show I was invited to participate in featuring the moon as a theme.

A conversation about my art, my approach and making a living as an artist.

Happy Earth Day, now check out the moon. We seem dead set on destruction but somehow the planet is still spinning… good job earth.

Final studio capture of this dramatic cloudscape. I am still putting together my solo show collection, photographing some of the finished pieces.

I am working on a new series of water paintings. These are painted on a deep cradled board. I am finishing the edges with gold leaf rather than simply framing them. Some of these paintings will be at my solo show “Dreams Between Darkness”, June 11th at RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon.

A tribute to the season. I am so excited for more daylight and sunshine. A little sun on the lake and the day is better.
I am working on a little collection of these 16” square water paintings. I put gold leaf on the 2” cradled side rather than framing the pieces. Some of these should be at my June solo show at RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon.

A new painting in the studio this morning. Another tribute to the moon. Two more nocturnal painting in the works… stay tuned.

I new moonlight painting in my studio. I have been working on a few of these pieces recently. I sold a couple of them but this one might be bound for a group exhibit. Time will tell as it seems to do.

A final studio shot of this painting. Inspired by the cold beauty of the north woods. This painting will be part of my solo exhibit at RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. The show opening is June 11th, I am planning on attending the opening.
This video shows some of the finalizing that goes into an already finished painting! I have since shipped this one to Abend Gallery in Denver, Colorado. It was a commission arranged through the gallery.
