This is the completed version of “Western Shadows (bison skull) II”. It is, for some reason, particularly difficult to capture this painting digitally, it just doesn’t seem to represent the final piece properly. I am including some detailed photographs that display some of the intriguing textural elements that make the physical painting so much more compelling (at least to me).
This is an acrylic painting that is 20″ x 20″
It is very mysterious!!

Beautiful details, very intricate and interesting textures, they add a lot of character to the piece. Lovely to see such a close up shot, I can appreciate so much more the technique which you’re a master of! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your thoughtful comments! Glad it was interesting seeing some detailed extras. The texture and depth are my obsession, yet they don’t really come across in the typical single photograph. Maybe I’ll do more of this sort of thing moving forward.

Personally I would like that and I know a photo shot of an art work is not the same if someone would actually experience viewing the piece in reality.
