I just put the final coat of varnish on this painting last night. Such a dramatic piece, excited to send it to my solo show at Momentum Gallery in Asheville, N.C. The show opens May 9th, I have 20 paintings to frame, pack up and ship!

This painting has been hanging around my studio “nearly finished” for a long while. It is now complete and will be framed with so many other paintings heading to my solo show at Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina! I will post more information as the show gets ever closer.

I was pleased to hear that this painting was sold through RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. This painting was part of a collection of six pieces on deep cradled wood panel. If you watch the video you will see that I covered the edge of the painting with gold leaf rather than framing the art. I have not done this recently. When on display it reflects a subtle gold halo on the wall depending on the room lighting.

A new painting on the studio today. The clouds in this piece are relatively simple but utterly hypnotic. A little bit of Hawaii to brighten the day.

A new meditative cloudscape. Painted on cradled wood board, my primary painting surface.

A large new painting in the studio today. I purchased five pf the big cradled wood panels. Excited to be painting highly atmospheric landscapes.

I new nocturnal painting on a square cradled 18” wood panel.
This one was painted using a limitation color palette, maximum mood. I use a limited palette always, primary colors plus magenta. They were mixed down to a narrow spectrum for this painting.

I love seeing the first light and last light of the day touch the mountain peaks. It is particularly beautiful when the mountains are capped with snow. They glow and are so inspiring and haunting.

Painting atmosphere and light is always a huge focus in my work. This new painting has a great bit of mood. Really nice size board to paint on as well.

The sky burns with the endless march of time.
A new cloudscape in the studio today. I love exploring light and motion. A cloudscape void of any landscape or anchors to the ground, such as mountains or trees, is intriguing to me.
