Pendleton Center for the Arts

I just had my show opening in Pendleton, Oregon. It is an honor to have my paintings displayed in such a beautiful historic building! A really great art community is flourishing here, the Pendleton Center for the Arts is at the heart.

Pendleton is famous for the big rodeo in September and of course the great Pendleton wool clothing and blankets. We took a number of tours in town and found it has some really intriguing history with an underground that is pretty fascinating. So if you you find yourself in that part of the country it is well worth a visit. Plenty of great restaurants, brewpubs and a wonderful new distillery! If you can make it before the end of August you can also see my show at the beautiful Art Center!

Storm Series

A collection of three 20″x16″ open acrylic paintings. These were inspired by the impressive beauty of Lake Pend Oreille. Storms periodically move across the lake with such a sense of power it is a humbling spectacle. These aren’t my first stormy paintings and I’m sure they will not be my last.

This collection along with 30 other original paintings will be on display in Pendleton, Oregon at the Pendleton Center for the Arts August 2nd-31st.

Lower Columbia College

Last night was the opening for my solo show at the Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington. It is a beautiful space and it was a shame I couldn’t make the long trip. The Gallery director was nice enough to send these photos after the exhibit was hung.

Distant

I love the power and ever shifting appearance of clouds. Giants of the sky decorating the blue or bringing in weather.

I have been working on a series featuring clouds. This is one I finished recently, it captures a bit of magic for me…
