A new small painting, finished in the studio today. I have been working on far too many paintings simultaneously so it was nice to step away and paint something small that could be finished relatively quickly.

I snuck off to the studio a bit over the weekend. This small cloudscape was the fruit of my efforts. I will start the week with a bit more time dedicated to the sky above.

I am finishing this new painting in the studio today. It is a dangerously cold day in North Idaho, and not warm at all in my studio. That being said I am always happy to spend the day painting.
Winter took a while to get here but it has truly arrived. I am trying to keep hiking up the mountain every morning along with snow clearing. The most important thing though is painting. I will continue posting new artwork on this site but the highway is getting short.

Morning hike

I was glad to hear this painting sold through Radius Gallery in Missoula, Montana. I was excited about pursuing these color schemes and autumnal emotions but time keeps pushing on.
The gallery still has a great collection of my art available. Great gallery in a really fun town.

This is an older painting that I sold three years ago. This time of year I am looking at past work as I begin work for the new year. I am always experimenting and trying to create something unique, beautiful and emotional.

I was happy to hear that this small painting was sold through RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. Great gallery in a fun coastal town. Happy New Year!

My final post of 2023. One of my favorite recent works. A celebration of mother nature and the beauty of the Northwest!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays 2023!

More inspiration from the home water, Lake Pend Oreille in North Idaho! I am obsessed with the changing landscape and it is an endless well of inspiration.
I used to consider 18”x24” to be a large painting. They now seem small but are a really great size to work on. Plenty of room for expression but small enough to cover relatively quickly, I am working on a series of these misty images with plans to paint much larger work in the near future. My plans are always fluid, always following my enthusiasm of the moment.
Happy Holidays!!
