The size of things?

Waves at Dawn 18”x14” paint on the panel

This painting is on an 18″x14″ board. Not entirely a standard size for frames but I have found a few floater frame options. Lately I have been working on larger panels, it is hard to go back to small boards! This size might become my new “small painting”.

A little ditty

Flying 14”x11” paint on panel

It seems like I always have a lot of “series of paintings” I want to work on. This is one I am going to boost up a bit higher in priority. A sort of heavenly view of the skies. Dreamy and a bit surreal or at least that is my thought today.

I painted this little study this morning. I am also prepping a bunch of larger panels to move forward with these paintings…

Art for Elliott

Emerging 20”x16” paint on wood panel

This painting will soon be headed to the Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento, California. I have a solo show there the month of February and I am super excited about it!

I painted this one three or four weeks ago. Just got around to taking a high resolution photograph this morning. I still have so much varnishing, framing and photography I have to do before the show. So many details go into the preparation of an exhibit. I just want to paint but it’s all part of the gig… I can’t really complain.

Winter Light

Winter Light 20”x24” paint on panel

Low clouds and limited distance create a feeling of infinity. A sense of the unknown that I really enjoy. This time of year it is a prelude to the coming snows of winter.

Watching snow fall on a stormy lake is one of my favorite things about winter… certainly better than shoveling snow!

Kuwait

Tranquility 14”x11” acrylic on wood panel

This is a painting I finished September 14th. Instagram helps me keep track of such trivia!

It was one of three paintings I sold to a nice woman from Kuwait. I have shipped paintings all over the planet but this was the slowest and most worrisome shipment. It arrived in Kuwait City very quickly but then it took about 6 weeks for her to receive it! It all worked out though and she has them hanging together on her wall.

Working in the studio

20”x16” paint on wood panel

It’s another Wednesday and I am so thankful to have a dedicated space to paint. Also the time to work on the art I really care about. The winter has arrived but I am excited about being hold up in my studio and giving it all I’ve got! Strangely upbeat today, must be a chemical imbalance.
