Special shout out to the Turkey Boys.

This is part of my “Woodland” series. There is a video about the creation on my YouTube channel.
I noticed it was bright and clear this morning just after 6:00 AM. The days are getting longer and I am excited!

More snow coming, more winter paintings ahead. It felt like spring was coming early, I knew it was just a temporary state. Just another excuse to paint some more winter imagery. There is a feeling I am chasing with some of these works… so more opportunities.

The snows are deep. It has a startling beauty. I know it will lose its charm. This one is heading to Abend Gallery, in Denver.

As I write this we are buried in snow. It’s such a dramatic and beautiful change to the scenery. Of course it also pretty challenging at times!
I made a YouTube video about the creation of this painting. Check out my channel if you get a chance!

A painting inspired by the ridge that blocks much of the low winter sun. We have loads of snow coming which is inspiring a lot of winter artwork this year.
Though the daylight is brief the combination of snow and moon last night made for a magical evening. I guess it’s only a matter of time before I paint some large moonlight related imagery.

Work in progress on this snowbound passage.

Starting a series of paintings focusing on the forest. I live in snow country so there will be some winter imagery, don’t be alarmed.

The other day we received 8″ of snow. It is always startling to wake up to such a dramatic shift in the world.
I abandoned what I was working on in the studio and did a couple moody snow scenes. Fun capturing the vibe right outside my window.

I have a few of these tiny boards lying around. With our recent and impending snows I was inspired to play with some winter light. This is the first painting in the group. More to come…
