My sister and brother in law made the treck to North Idaho to visit over the 4th of July weekend. We had a lot of fun on the water enjoying the rewards of summer.
I sent her home with a couple of paintings she was fond of!
I knew I had been on the road before but it would have been years ago in my college days. I saw a sign for the Palouse Falls and impulsively extended the trip slightly more. It was worth the 4 mile detour! The Falls were roaring with the spring runoff. It was also the warmest weather I have seen since last September! Like being transported into a future/past summer.

Well it is winter, this painting was inspired by the snowy country in which I live. The painting is a 24″x24″ acrylic painting on plexiglass panel.

Three acrylic paintings related to the elusive winter sun. These paintings are each 16″x16″.

I put some time into painting last night and decided to paint a fairly frantic cloudscape. This painting is 16″x16″, I like the energy and color blending with this piece… hard to achieve on a larger format. It felt like a little glimpse of something new which is always exciting! Always trying to capture an immediacy and simple quality that is very tricky.
