New Start

Mystic Distance 12”x16” acrylic on wood panel

I have shipped all of my recent work to Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento. Now I am making a new start! I have some commissions I need to work on, those start next week. I will take the remainder of this week just to paint.

Time erodes everything, painting offers occasional moments of ascent.

The world is a light box

Winter Light 20”x24” acrylic on wood panel

A photograph of me holding my painting “winter light”. Yesterday the sky was a bright grey, the ground white, and I was standing in a giant light box!

This painting and the final collection will be heading to California today. Ready for my solo show at Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento, California!

Taking another look…

Down the River 20”x16” acrylic painting

I revisited a painting from late 2018 that I wasn’t entirely satisfied with. I am gathering paintings for my February solo show making hard decisions. This particular piece was on the edge but now it will be attending the exhibit! The show is at the Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento, California.

In a mood

Whispering 24”x18” acrylic on wood panel

I love painting moody water and cloudscapes. I tend to turn them into something I think of as an emotional landscape. Expressive and full of motion, a place to put my feelings I suppose.

This is one I just finished yesterday. I will be working on some more along this theme!

Kuwait

Tranquility 14”x11” acrylic on wood panel

This is a painting I finished September 14th. Instagram helps me keep track of such trivia!

It was one of three paintings I sold to a nice woman from Kuwait. I have shipped paintings all over the planet but this was the slowest and most worrisome shipment. It arrived in Kuwait City very quickly but then it took about 6 weeks for her to receive it! It all worked out though and she has them hanging together on her wall.

Shimmer

Packing up and shipping a Ugallery sale today. This painting has been in my studio for a couple years now, it will leave a void.

This one has some large sculptural quality to the mark making. It is an interesting piece headed to California just in time to dodge the winter!
