This morning I put the finishing touches on this small painting. I have a number of boards this unusual size. I will have to order custom floater frames when the time comes.

I have been painting a lot of forest scenes recently. It occurred to me that this is a pattern I have followed for a few years in the fall. The low sun this time of year is beautiful and haunting. It drives home the temporary quality of our existence.

This large wave painting is now available at the Grand Bohemian Gallery in St. Augustine, Florida!

A new seascape in the studio. Something a bit more peaceful and heavenly. This painting was commissioned through a gallery by a great collector of mine. She is going to be gifting it to a friend with cancer… hopefully the tranquility and light will provide both to her.

This painting was just sold through Haven Gallery in New York. It is part of a group exhibit that opened yesterday, art inspired by the Uffizi Gallery. This painting is an apocalyptic take on a Rembrandt etching of the same name.

I am starting on a series of autumnal forest paintings. This time of year as the daylight fades and the sun hangs low, I feel it in so many ways. The beauty shifts and there is that reminder of days passing and time slipping away. I am leaning into the beauty of the hours.

Detail of my new painting that will be part of a Uffizi inspired show at Haven Gallery. The exhibit opens October 29th in New York.

November 1st I will have a drawing to giveaway this color study to one lucky subscriber on my Instagram account. I am considering doing this every month if it goes well. Subscription is 99¢ a month.

This is all an experiment. I have found making a living as an artist requires a lot of hustle and alternate income sources. I would love to hear from other artists… how do you make ends meet?

This painting really captures the low light color show I see up here in North Idaho. This painting is currently available through RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon.
