I love the winter solstice. The days will once again stretch out and we can look forward to the light. In the meantime we can enjoy the low sun magic and winter landscape.
I have been working on some small paintings. Using up some boards and finding satisfaction in some fresh pieces. I really love studio days, in a snow filled landscape.
I have been painting a lot of forest scenes recently. It occurred to me that this is a pattern I have followed for a few years in the fall. The low sun this time of year is beautiful and haunting. It drives home the temporary quality of our existence.
I am continuing some autumnal forest paintings in the studio. I have four of these pieces in the works. After immersing myself into this I will be switch to some much larger panels, 30”x30”.
I put my life into a very short clip.
A new painting in my studio today. Freshly signed and varnished! I will frame it soon and then decide which gallery to send it to.
This lovely painting was sold through Horizon Fine Art Gallery in Jackson, Wyoming. It felt like a special piece to me… someone else must have agreed.
A silly little reel from Instagram. This is me everyday, the hat comes and goes with the season. Enjoy the upcoming weekend!
A quick little video preview of my upcoming solo show at RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. This is only a very small portion of the exhibit, 22 pieces in all. Artists reception 5:00 PM June 11th.
