Another small painting, exploration and experimentation for larger work. It is difficult to make such a small piece feel expressive, this one does.

Before my exhibit at Momentum Gallery (Asheville, North Carolina) my studio was filled with finished artwork. I only took a couple of photos which is kind of a shame in retrospect. The exhibit ends next week and is nearly sold out.

Finished this small painting today. Welcome to September.

This painting really captures our dramatic skies of the season. Clouds pressing in but the blue of summer still shining through.

I just received word that this painting was sold at my solo show. The exhibit wraps up September 8th at Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina.

I find myself working on meditative paintings frequently. When I am fully immersed in painting it creates a very trance like state. Combining the process with imagery infused with mystery and movement, the feeling is compounded.

Clouds and light continue to fascinate and inspire. This is an energetic take inspired by the morning sun.

Another 12” square on my easel. Priming a huge number of wood panels was definitely a good idea. I want to spend my time painting without all the prep work between moments at the easel.
Time is grinding us all back to star dust. I wish I could stockpile the good days.

I sold this large painting through RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. I will be returning to the gallery in June 2022 for a new solo exhibit at the gallery! in the meantime I am trying to finish up some new pieces for the gallery to tide them over (ugh that pun).
