This is one of three paintings in the show on square 24” wood cradled board. I hadn’t painted panels this particular dimension since college which is an odd thing to realize.
The painting is inspired by the smoke filled skies that are far too common in Summer.

This painting has been hanging around my studio “nearly finished” for a long while. It is now complete and will be framed with so many other paintings heading to my solo show at Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina! I will post more information as the show gets ever closer.

I was pleased to hear that this painting was sold through RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. This painting was part of a collection of six pieces on deep cradled wood panel. If you watch the video you will see that I covered the edge of the painting with gold leaf rather than framing the art. I have not done this recently. When on display it reflects a subtle gold halo on the wall depending on the room lighting.
