A new seascape in the studio. Much of the subtlety doesn’t make it across in photographs, a common complaint I know. After working on so many tiny paintings this summer it was nice to give myself some larger space to explore.

Always chasing light and atmosphere in my work. This one at a small scale.
I am continuing to work on smaller works for fall shows. The summer is rolling past at an astonishing pace.

A new painting in the studio. We have had some pretty spectacular sunsets of late. I was inspired to capture that ethereal fade of light.
I am preparing a lot of small boards and will be painting many small works this summer.

My 2024 solo show at Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina ends June 22nd! Last chance to see this huge collection in person. These paintings represent a huge chunk of time, I poured my heart into them.
Thank you to Samantha Keely Smith, for providing the video I used in this reel. She is one of my favorite painters, check her out if you haven’t seen her work!

I love weather systems moving across the lake. Expansive daylight with sunshine ahead. This painting is bound for Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina.

One of twenty paintings that will be available through my solo show at Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina. The exhibit opens tomorrow!

Three acrylic paintings that are part of my upcoming show at Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina. Twenty paintings will be available and the show opens May 9th!

A new painting on the studio today. The clouds in this piece are relatively simple but utterly hypnotic. A little bit of Hawaii to brighten the day.

Endless inspiration at the days conclusion. Nature in general is a constant source of enthusiasm, a precious well. I have prepared a number of 18” wood panels, more to come!

I am finishing this new painting in the studio today. It is a dangerously cold day in North Idaho, and not warm at all in my studio. That being said I am always happy to spend the day painting.
