Water can be a source of peace and tranquillity. I find when painting images like this I get lost in the work and it soothes my mind.

Probably my favorite painting of 2020 is 20% off for one more day at Radius Gallery!

Three small paintings I did in preparation for the large commission I recently finished. These were a bit of an experiment with materials. For the final commission I stuck with acrylics but there are interesting roads to explore here.

Final photo of this painting. It was one of the larger commissions I have painted recently. I just shipped it off to Oregon.

I finished painting this commission during the week. I had done a few 14”x11” paintings in advance just to experiment with color and motion before tackling such a large painting. over the weekend I will varnish this one and install hangers. Then package and ship!

A little mood on this Monday morning.

One last study before starting a 36”x24” commission. This one is a loose take on the composition, values and colors. The large painting will be much more detailed but I love the loose vibe and motion of this small take.

I started this painting just about a year ago. I decided it was time to finish it or prep the surface for a new painting. I ended up adding some wave detail and strengthening the contrast.

Wave and light exploration on a canvas panel. The movement of light through the surface of water is hypnotics and soothing to watch. I strive to echo that quality in a simplified and expressive manner.
