I finished this apocalyptic beauty over the weekend. This image is from a high resolution photograph in my studio this morning.

More inspiration from the forest. I am very fortunate to live close to a National Forest trailhead. I have been using it constantly and it renews my inspiration daily. With so much snow already building up, not sure if I will be able to keep it up… I will try.

Simplification and abstraction, concepts I play with to varying degrees in my work. This little painting is all about the feel of light.

A nice bit of drama with this piece. I am starting a large commission so I have been doing some related studies.

I have been painting some of the local colors I see on my early morning hikes. Now it seems that winter has snuck in. This morning I will see if the trail is treacherous. No doubt there will be some winter imagery in the future.
