Heavy Clouds

I recently finished these two 16″x16″ dramatic cloud paintings. They will be part of the collection of paintings headed to Bainbridge Island for a solo exhibit. The show is at BPA, I have never been there but am looking forward to it! I have been to Bainbridge Island a number of times, beautiful place across the sound from Seattle.

Distant

I love the power and ever shifting appearance of clouds. Giants of the sky decorating the blue or bringing in weather.

I have been working on a series featuring clouds. This is one I finished recently, it captures a bit of magic for me…

This acrylic painting is 16″x16″

Dimming Light

This 24”x 18” painting has shipped off to a collector in San Francisco, CA. I was saving it for one of my two looming show deadlines but a fella has to make some money when he can!

This painting really has a beautiful apocalyptic vibe which was fun in the studio, plus we find ourselves at 2 minutes to midnight. Hopefully, the purchaser will enjoy this piece in the remaining two minutes!

Winter’s Water

Once again trying to capture the feeling of snow falling on the lake. This is another 24″x30″ acrylic painting on panel.

Mark making is always an important element in my painting process. I was pleased with the results on this piece. The suggestion of movement and precipitation is there but it also has an expressive quality that elevates the image.
