Thank you for joining me on my artistic journey. I am excited for new work and adventures in 2023!

This large painting is shipping to Greenville, South Carolina today! It will be available through the Grand Bohemian Gallery.

This photo was taken 5 weeks ago, much warmer days. Now I am wearing layers and a stocking cap in the studio. Acrylic paint dries much more slowly with these temperatures which is a benefit of the season!

Studio shot of this ethereal golden painting. I have four of these that I am finishing up. Then it is on to the large commission of a similar theme. I am rather buried in commissions, I rarely take them but now I am signed up for a lot.

I am starting on a series of autumnal forest paintings. This time of year as the daylight fades and the sun hangs low, I feel it in so many ways. The beauty shifts and there is that reminder of days passing and time slipping away. I am leaning into the beauty of the hours.

November 1st I will have a drawing to giveaway this color study to one lucky subscriber on my Instagram account. I am considering doing this every month if it goes well. Subscription is 99¢ a month.

This is all an experiment. I have found making a living as an artist requires a lot of hustle and alternate income sources. I would love to hear from other artists… how do you make ends meet?

I was excited to hear that this painting sold through Horizon Fine Art Gallery as soon as it was unpacked!
I have decided to take next year off from the solo show grind. I am going to send work as it is made to a handful of galleries I enjoy working with. Holding onto work for a show is exciting, to see a large collection hanging together. Shows are also stressful and an all your eggs in one basket proposition. My new plan affords me the freedom to make small collections with no specific goal or destination.

I framed this painting over Labor Day weekend. yesterday I boxed it up with two other pieces and shipped it to Wyoming. They will be arriving next Monday at Horizon Fine Art Gallery in Jackson Hole.
Another summer has slipped away. It always breaks my heart. As the days get short and the weather becomes terrible I will spend even more time in the studio working… that is the silver lining.
