I revisited this painting. It never felt “right” to me. Some additional work proved to be the right decision. Now I have finalized the painting, signed and varnished.
We had a pretty loud lightning and hail storm on Lake Pend Oreille yesterday. A little bit of excitement as winter slowly gives up the ghost.

More nocturnal painting happening in the studio. Outside the wind is howling and everything is frozen. The moon is beautiful yet indifferent.

This one was varnished, framed and shipped to its new home in Florida.

I am working on a couple large cloudscapes. I like brooding work that is both beautiful and a bit surreal. I think of these works as psychological paintings or dreamscapes.
