I was happy to hear this painting was sold through Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina. The town had a brutal year and I am so glad Momentum Gallery weathered the storm and grateful they represent me.

A newly completed painting on the easel! I am fascinated by light and atmosphere, the magic of nature. I am currently working on a few sunset paintings, stay tuned.

The sun is elusive this time of year, dramatic when it appears. Constant inspiration in my North Idaho home.
There are many paintings in the works today in my studio. I am really getting into the groove, one of the better feelings to have as an artist.

I am pretty fond of this piece. It is a really common subject for me but it is one I truly love. I am thankful I have time to spend painting, trying not to waste it.
There will be more unusual paintings in the near future as I work towards my March solo show. This painting will not be at that show. This one is bound for a gallery, not sure which one just yet.

A new painting in the studio! I am currently preparing a lot of boards that are this size and 16” x 20”. These will be keeping me busy throughout much of the very dark winter season.

Reflecting the season on Lake Pend Oreille, in North Idaho. The time change and darkening is always more than a little oppressive. The upside, very little distraction from precious studio time.
I am thankful for the rain we are getting this time of year, fire season behind us now. Soon the rain will turn to snow. The seasons have their charm.

This painting had the proper vibe for this last day of October. I am always trying to find something that blends beautiful and haunting . Either way, happy Halloween.

Another new painting in the studio today. This one has been in the works for a little while. I am very pleased with that big sky feeling of this piece. I am starting to get a solid collection of work in my studio. Unfortunately none of it really works with my upcoming March show… but I follow my passions so the show will reveal itself in time.

I varnished, framed and packed four new paintings. They are heading to Abend Gallery in Denver, Colorado. They will be part of a small works exhibition, really pleased to be included. It is a great gallery, I had a solo show at the gallery in 2020.

I really love this painting, I will probably let it hang around the studio for a little while. The title and vibe precisely capture my feelings this time of year. The daylight dwindles and the temperature plummet. The studio feels extra isolated with the snowbirds long gone. It feels grim and a bit exciting. The studio is my haven, dig in and of course dig out.
