The sky is an endless source of inspiration. Chasing subtle shifts in light and shadow. The orchestrated chaos of my painting style brought this piece to life.

I love the moody storms that blow across Lake Pend Oreille, particularly in the summer. The clear blue sky overtaken by huge ominous clouds. Hope for rain and worry about the lightning. It’s all a huge inspiration to my work, the reason I moved here so many years ago.

Painting atmosphere and light is always a huge focus in my work. This new painting has a great bit of mood. Really nice size board to paint on as well.

I was happy to hear that this painting was sold through Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina. This is an amazing art gallery in a really cool artistic community.

I snuck off to the studio a bit over the weekend. This small cloudscape was the fruit of my efforts. I will start the week with a bit more time dedicated to the sky above.

New work on the easel today. I am working on a few of these epic images. A tribute to the mood and limited sunlight of the winter season.

Fall is a gorgeous time of year, also a bit melancholy. The color and lighting of the season is incredibly inspiring. It pulls me away from the work I was planning. More autumnal images to come.

Fall, entering the dark season. It brings some melancholy with the beauty. Chasing the vibe on some small panels.

A new painting, this one was created as a diptych. It is more impactful as a stand alone image so that is how I will keep it. I love the atmosphere and simplicity of this piece.

Summer is so gorgeous in North Idaho on Lake Pend Oreille. It is a constant source of inspiration and excitement. I particularly like days when moody clouds drift across the lake. Summer is far to short.
