The moon is always so beautiful, such an intriguing subject. I wanted to capture the last fade of sunlight as the night takes over the hours. I just finished this piece, it may be part of my upcoming solo show, decision time is at hand.

This is one of three paintings I have in the “La Lune III” show at Haven Gallery in Northport, New York. This painting is available!
I don’t take part in many group shows these days. I generally put everything into a solo show or ship work to galleries without a specific theme. It is a fun exercise to approach themed exhibitions and turn your thinking in a different direction.

This is one of my favorite nocturnal paintings. It is available through Robert Lange Studios in Charleston, South Carolina!

I new moonlight painting in my studio. I have been working on a few of these pieces recently. I sold a couple of them but this one might be bound for a group exhibit. Time will tell as it seems to do.

More nocturnal painting happening in the studio. Outside the wind is howling and everything is frozen. The moon is beautiful yet indifferent.

A little study of a nocturnal sky and rising moon.

Every season has it’s charm. It still feels exciting to walk outside at night when it’s warm.

Moonlight as inspiration on this painting.

A small painting I did as a commission. I am going to make some large moon related paintings so this was a nice warmup.
When the moon comes out in the winter it seems especially magic. The light is so limited in January.

When the moon lights up the night it creates a magical otherworldly quality. The forest becomes such a mysterious and intriguing place. For all it’s beauty I can not recommend night hiking.
