Warmer Days, 10”x10” acrylic

So much work to do for my August solo show at Abend Gallery in Denver. I made the time for this little commission. Just putting the finishing touches on the piece, shipping this week.

Drift Beyond

June 13, 2020June 13, 2020 by Brian Sostrom, posted in art, nature, painting
Drift Beyond, 20”x20” acrylic

Working on some 20” square wooden panels. I used to avoid the square format. Now I appreciate the fact that they are so void of composition, so blank before the paint.

So It Goes

So It Goes, 12”x12” acrylic

I just finalized this water piece. It was hanging out in the studio for a week and needed a little attention.

The title was stuck in my mind while I was painting this. It’s a famous line from a Kurt Vonnegut book.

Beneath

February 27, 2020 by Brian Sostrom, posted in art
Beneath, 12”x12 acrylic

I have some 12” in the studio so I took myself way off course and played around with some water imagery. It’s good to break things up from time to time.
