Timber Stories (SOLD)

Timber Stories, 12”x12” acrylic

I painted this during our first legitimate snowfall on Tuesday. The painting didn’t actually keep me warm but I know it tried.

I only have a couple of these 12″x12″ boards left, I have really enjoyed working at this dimension. Trying to dig through old artworks and sand them down. Reuse existing materials, recycling is a lot of work!

Kootenai

Kootenai Mirror 10”x10” acrylic on wood panel

Last weekend we took a little road trip to the Kootenai National wildlife refuge. We didn’t arrive until the evening but the lighting and views were magnificent! The main loop drive was closed for the winter, but worth the trek regardless!

I have done a few little winter scenes inspired by the evening. I hope to paint a larger image next.

Three Winter Paintings

Sentries 14”x11” acrylic on panel

In North Idaho winter is a very real season. I love to be in the studio working this time of year! I don’t feel guilty about being inside, and it’s such a beautiful view. I decided to capture a little of the winter feel in these small paintings. I will probably do a couple larger paintings on the theme soon.

Frozen Edges 14”x11” acrylic on panel

I hope everyone is staying warm!

Winter Veil 11”x14” acrylic on panel

The world is a light box

Winter Light 20”x24” acrylic on wood panel

A photograph of me holding my painting “winter light”. Yesterday the sky was a bright grey, the ground white, and I was standing in a giant light box!

This painting and the final collection will be heading to California today. Ready for my solo show at Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento, California!
