I have a fondness for desolation and solitude. The warmth and light in this piece is all the companionship needed.

Inspiration from Lake Pend Oreille in Idaho. This time of year the last sun blasts the mountains to the east. A true spectacle of color.

A couple recent works that pair well, influence from morning hikes. Starting with small studies can either lead to larger pieces or satisfy the need.

A little mood on this Monday morning.

I finished this apocalyptic beauty over the weekend. This image is from a high resolution photograph in my studio this morning.

More inspiration from the forest. I am very fortunate to live close to a National Forest trailhead. I have been using it constantly and it renews my inspiration daily. With so much snow already building up, not sure if I will be able to keep it up… I will try.

A nice bit of drama with this piece. I am starting a large commission so I have been doing some related studies.

From high resolution scan, I am particularly fond of this one. I was planning on doing some really large paintings in this theme. I have derailed myself but it’s still on my mind.

This small piece is available through Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina. I put this one in a really beautiful custom made floater frame that has a copper tint.

My ongoing collection of small forest paintings. I am not taking the mornings for granted.
