This summer I am busy working on some smaller paintings. Trying to find a balance of summer fun with family and friends and my studio obsession. Small works are a great way to explore ideas, the best ones will inspire larger paintings in the future.

Newly finished piece, this painting was a commission arranged by Radius Gallery in Missoula, Montana. I also had the pleasure of meeting the new owners!

I am busy packing up 20 paintings for my solo show opening May 9th. The exhibit is at Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina.

I was pleased to hear that this painting was sold through RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. This painting was part of a collection of six pieces on deep cradled wood panel. If you watch the video you will see that I covered the edge of the painting with gold leaf rather than framing the art. I have not done this recently. When on display it reflects a subtle gold halo on the wall depending on the room lighting.

A new meditative cloudscape. Painted on cradled wood board, my primary painting surface.

I am always dreaming of a better future. What we all have is today, I will spend it painting.

I love seeing the first light and last light of the day touch the mountain peaks. It is particularly beautiful when the mountains are capped with snow. They glow and are so inspiring and haunting.

A new small painting, finished in the studio today. I have been working on far too many paintings simultaneously so it was nice to step away and paint something small that could be finished relatively quickly.

This is an older painting that I sold three years ago. This time of year I am looking at past work as I begin work for the new year. I am always experimenting and trying to create something unique, beautiful and emotional.
This is one of eight new paintings I have available at Radius Gallery in Missoula, Montana. It’s an incredible gallery and I am excited to have new work there once again.
I drove the collection over to Missoula yesterday! The drive was so beautiful along the Clark Fork River and then following the Flathead River east. Just a gorgeous part of the country, I hate taking a day off from the studio but it was a day of recharging and inspiration.
