A colorful cloud painting on the studio counter with some friends! This one doesn’t have the apocalyptic vibe of yesterday’s post.

Another cloud painting inspired by the low winter sun of the north! Pictured in progress on my studio table.
As winter’s dark slips into our daily lives I am feeling inspired by the changing atmosphere. The sun staying low creating dramatic light and shadow. I am also a fool for giant clouds crawling across the land. It seems I like my landscapes moody.
This moody painting was one of my favorites last winter. It now resides in San Francisco.
An atmospheric cloudscape I just completed. The sky is a constant source of inspiration to me!
I just signed, varnished, framed and added a wire hanger to this 14″x11″ painting. I am going through the process of finalizing my latest collection of works for the next show. So many details go into each exhibit, well beyond the painting.
Next I will photograph everything and create a catalog of the works for the Pendleton Center for the Arts!
I have a soft spot in my heart for this particular painting. It encapsulates a lot of the elements I strive for in my work. I liked this painting so much that I was abnormally fearful of dropping it or damaging it in some unknown way! Kind of funny considering I destroy work all of the time, it is part of the process of creation for me. As a result I am less sentimental about work… but apparently not always!
This is a 14″x11″ painting. I love to play around with the shifting forms of clouds and light. The behavior of the paint and the way it is manipulated is the star of the show here!
This 24″x18″ painting is currently at the BPA on Bainbridge Island. Forgive the black bars at the top and bottom!
I love the power and ever shifting appearance of clouds. Giants of the sky decorating the blue or bringing in weather.
