Another painting inspired by the season. Heartache echoing across the years.

A new painting inspired by Lake Pend Oreille in North Idaho. It is always amazing how quickly the colors and values shift as the sun rises. I have become fairly obsessed in my later days.

This painting is fairly shimmering with golden light. More inspiration from the landscape surrounding me in North Idaho.
A bit of melancholy with the loss of summer light. I am excited to see neighbors fleeing for the south. A silent winter is a painting paradise.

An older painting that was purchased a couple years ago by some close friends. They took a long vacation to North Idaho to visit. This marks the last day of their stay.

A small colorful painting on the studio table. I have now painted a lot of 10” and 12” panels. I wanted to do many more but I need to focus on some of my commissions so these will be on the back burner.

Some large paintings in the studio here in Idaho. They are now on display at Momentum Gallery in Asheville, NC.

Experimenting with some different gouache paints. Ultimately I plan on putting together a very minimal traveling paint set. In the meantime these sketches may inform some larger acrylic paintings.

A photo I took in my studio just before the work was shipped to my solo exhibit at Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina. I immediately left for Italy after shipping the paintings… now back to the states and my beloved studio.

This small painting is from February of this year. Another idea I have meant to explore a bit more.

Inspiration from my backyard. This painting will be at my solo exhibit at Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina.
For the past eight years I have had two or three solo shows each year, all over the country. During the pandemic I decided to limit my big exhibitions to one a year. This year it is North Carolina. In 2022 I have a solo exhibit on the Oregon coast.
