I wrapped up this large commission painting. It is being delivered to the new owners today! I hope that they will enjoy this tranquil piece for years to come.
The painting is 60″x22″ on a 3″ cradled board, so it is heavy. It is also surprisingly difficult to get a photograph of something this size without reflections or lighting issues. I ran out of time and simply had my Dad take a photo of me holding it!
I just shipped this painting off yesterday! It is another Ugallery sale. I have been a Ugallery artist for about a year and a half and have found it to be a great company to work with. They originally contacted me through Instagram (@bsostrom). The gallery promotes your work in various ways. When they make a sale the gallery mails the artist well built packaging and provide prepaid postage online.
It is another source of income and one I need to devote more work to in the future!

Two 11″x14″ paintings I wrapped up last night… well aside from varnishing, signing, framing 😳. They really look good together as an accidental diptych!

I often work two or three paintings of similar subject at a time. It keeps my focus narrowed and my paints can be shared between multiple paintings. I frequently make interesting discoveries and small creative jumps with this approach!

Another painting in my brooding landscape series. I hope to have 4 of these totally finished for my next solo show. It opens in Pendleton, Oregon at the Arts Center August 2nd!

I am working on a series of storm inspired paintings. Watching a big thunderstorm crawl across the expansive lake gives one a sense of place, a very small place. This particular painting is much more of a calm meditative image. They will get more apocalyptic!
I recently completed this little painting. It has a nice sense of mystery and light.

This little 14″x11″ painting is a studio in atmosphere and light, like so much of my work.
I am working on a bunch of new paintings for my upcoming Pendleton, Oregon solo show. I will put this one in a floating frame for the show!

This painting is being used as a promo image for my upcoming show in Pendleton, Oregon. The show is at the Pendleton Center for the Arts during the month of August!

I am mailing off these two paintings today. They are going to an Instagram friend in Southern California!
