I have been busily preparing work for my upcoming show. I decided to bring some smaller paintings with some of my larger work to this exhibit. These twelve paintings are all 10″x10″ in size, they were all painted over a seven month period. Signing varnishing and adding hangers all takes time but it is part of the deal.
I painted a 10″x10″ water painting last night. I am attaching a video as it is interesting to see how the light plays across the surface.
This moody study is 10″x10″ acrylic.
Openings of water are appearing on the frozen lake. They look like rivers and ponds forming in the icy field. I have been inspired to use the imagery as a jumping off point for some small paintings. These are 10″x10″ open acrylic paintings.
Six large paintings that are part of the collection I packed off to the Lewis-Clark State College. These are each 24″x24″.
Now that the chaos of show prep is behind me I am scaling back the size of my works again. More experimentations!
My show is opening at Lewis-Clark State College! This one is fairly long, running until March 18th. There is an artist reception February 3rd and I will be teaching a class on March 18t.
This is a larger painting than I have been doing recently, it is 36″x36″. I enjoy large works but in a tight space it is difficult to deal with. I will come back to more large pieces when I have a better studio situation!
This one is being packed up for an art show I am having down in Lewiston Idaho at Lewis-Clark State College.
This 24″x24″ painting was inspired by a road trip to Montana this fall. A short drive that made for a scenic getaway and a trip down memory lane.
These 24″x24″ acrylic paintings have just been finished up. Technically I still have to sign and varnish but the images themselves are complete. These were inspired by the time just before the snow arrived!
