Eastern Song

Eastern Song – 38”x12”, acrylic

I am nearly finished with my latest commission. It was a very specific size and dimension so I custom built a cradled board to the exact measurement that the client requested. I use to outsource the woodworking aspect but people have become both unreliable and horribly expensive (winning combination). So now I do everything in-house right down to the framing.

After the board was finished I sanded it down as smooth as possible. I put four or five layers of gesso onto the wood. Finally it is time to do the painting!

It is always satisfying when the buyer is excited by the finished work. The final steps will be signing, edge detail and varnish… then packing and shipping!

March of Time

March of Time – 12”x12”, acrylic

Another 12” square on my easel. Priming a huge number of wood panels was definitely a good idea. I want to spend my time painting without all the prep work between moments at the easel.

Time is grinding us all back to star dust. I wish I could stockpile the good days.

I was pleased to learn that this painting was sold through RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. I am also excited to announce my 2022 solo show will be at RiverSea Gallery next summer!

Like many people, during the pandemic I thought a lot about the time I have and how I use it. For a decade I have had numerous solo shows and group exhibits each year. Moving forward I will be having one major solo show per year. I will only be sending my artworks to a select number of galleries. I intend to focus my efforts.
