Elliott Fouts Gallery

I am pleased to be sending off five new paintings to the Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento, California. I have been selling work there since the end of 2016. This is an example of instagram having a real benefit rather than simply an ego booster. The gallery saw my work on instagram and reached out to me. They have been really great to work with and hopefully I will make it down there one of these days to see their gallery in person!

A walk through the pines

After setting up my art show in Baker City, Oregon I found myself with a free morning. I drove up to Phillips Reservoir and took an easy 4 mile hike.

A beautiful area with open meadows sprinkled with sagebrush. Forests of ponderosa pine, tamarack and fir trees. Stunning snow capped peaks and a lovely lake to top it off!

I rarely see bluebirds, they are beautiful elusive birds that love my kind of country. Today I saw dozens of bluebirds, an otter, eagles and hundreds of ground squirrels.

Clouds of Coeur d’Alene

Clouds of Coeur d'Alene

I am painting a couple of atmospheric paintings inspired by Lake Coeur d’Alene. I was there on a weekend outing and saw some pretty spectacular clouds over the lake. The lighting was very dramatic and inspirational. This is the first painting I have done, it is 16’x16″. I am pretty pleased with the outcome but it doesn’t begin to do my memory justice. I will post the next one when I complete it as well.
