I am painting a few trout portraits to honor our aquatic friends. I caught the largest trout of my life on my birthday. I always catch and release fish but they are netting these Mackinaw trout to reduce their numbers. They are serious predators and clearly get huge! This fish was 17.85 lbs and 36″ long! It is providing a lot of meals for the family!

Detail from a wave commission I am finishing. 50”x20”, I will be posting more from this.

That’s right, a group of owls is called a parliament. I had to look it up, such a distinguished and appropriate title. Now they are generally solitary birds so this is pretty worthless trivia, still must remember!

I sold this painting through Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento. It was part of my solo show in February of this year.

I spent some more time capturing photos of recent work. This one is still a favorite of mine.

Another dramatic sky blanketing this seascape. I tend to think of many of my works as emotional landscapes. I would not call myself an “emotional landscape painter” simply because I find labels to be limiting. I probably just have a contrary nature.

What’s in a name? Nothing or maybe everything… this painting seems to call out it’s name.

A morning of framing and mounting hangers on sold pieces. This one is headed to Australia!
