I revisited this painting. It never felt “right” to me. Some additional work proved to be the right decision. Now I have finalized the painting, signed and varnished.

Beyond Forever (sold)

I am wrapping up a big new Art Commission arranged through Abend Gallery in Denver, Colorado. This one she brings the magic and the mystery. I keep saying I won’t do more commissions. The commissions have all been rewarding this year… but seriously this might be the last, for a little while.
Moonlight

Final studio capture of this nocturnal painting. Just last night I had to stop and stare at a crescent moon. Nineteen degrees at night it still stopped me in my tracks. I took a moment to just absorb the vastness.
Rise and Fall 🔴

This large seascape was sold through the Grand Bohemian Gallery in Saint Augustine, Florida. Today I will be carefully packing and shipping this painting to its new home!
Winter Magic

More inspiration from winter sunlight in North Idaho.
Homeward

Locals are calling it “the big melt off”, which is definitely the case. Winter doesn’t really give up the ghost around here until April so it isn’t time to put away the snowblower just yet. This is one of my favorite winter paintings of the season. It is also my favorite painting size at the moment.
16 Hoofbeats (VOTE!)

This is in a contest on minted that closes March 2nd. Vote for my painting/paintings and you will have my eternal gratitude!
Over Hope 🔴

This painting is being shipped to a buyer in Florida. So many sales in Florida these days. I know have some friends moving to Florida, I am still in the snow country.
Just a note the title has nothing to do with pessimism. There is a town called Hope, Idaho… east of me where I often catch the moon rising. I don’t generally explain titles but this one, for once, wasn’t dour.
To Dusk (final)

Final studio capture of this newly finished painting. Still working towards my solo show in June at the RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. This one might be part of that exhibit…

Ascend to Dream

As a painter I have the freedom to follow my whims wherever they ramble. I am pursuing some work that is a bit more fantastical with no specific plan. The day I started to make real progress on this piece I found out Mark Lanegan passed on. Sadly that is burned into my brain, maybe appropriately so.
