Captured Images (a small collection)

Collecting high resolution photographs of your art is critical. At the very least it is something worth looking at later to see how your work has changed and hopefully evolved. I frequently fail to capture images of my paintings and it’s a shame to sell work without retaining a digital version.

Over the weekend I did manage to take some photographs of my recent works. These aren’t the highest resolution, I scaled them down for the website.

I was motivated by a deadline, it always seems to take a deadline!

Fleeting

The moon and night sky are always so captivating and hypnotic to me. I noticed the moon waxing yesterday evening. I am hoping this weekend, when it is full, more of the smoke in the air will have cleared. I’m already feeling low with summer rapidly winding down, more to look forward to I know.

In the meantime I am painting a series of nocturnal images. This one is 10″x8″… more to come!

Abstracted

This is a small collection of 10″x8″ paintings. I am experimenting with more aggressive mark making trying to boldly capture the morning light.

I am currently working on smaller paintings. After so many shows and deadlines this year I just want to paint and experiment and see where it goes!

Hidden

I just signed, varnished, framed and added a wire hanger to this 14″x11″ painting. I am going through the process of finalizing my latest collection of works for the next show. So many details go into each exhibit, well beyond the painting.

Next I will photograph everything and create a catalog of the works for the Pendleton Center for the Arts!
