A colorful new painting in my studio today.

I sold this painting a couple of summers ago. It felt like the right image for this beautiful Memorial Day Weekend.

A vibrant little painting from February of this year. I was painting a lot of color studies and smaller works. always a useful approach before working on larger paintings. A faster way to experiment with color, value, composition and concepts than a big panel. Of course in the end I just moved on without following many of these threads.

Pink is the star of this painting. This piece is another contender for my solo show at Momentum Gallery. I am in the last month of work with a lot of distractions!

I often find myself painting work I think of as “dreamscapes”. The driving focus of this piece is mood, light and atmosphere. The result not so much a literal translation of scenery but a slightly surreal departure from reality.

I was happy to learn that this little painting from a few years back has been purchased! It was sold through Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento, California. I have been working with the gallery for five or six years. I had a solo show there a couple years ago, one of my most successful shows. Almost all of the artwork was sold by opening night. The last few pieces from the show were sold before the show closed.

This painting is at Robert Lange Studios in Charleston, South Carolina!

This painting is going to part of my solo show at Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina. I am working very hard and making decisions about the paintings I have.

I finally received this custom floater frame that I ordered online. I mounted the painting in the frame and have the piece ready to hang. I can now pack up this painting and ship it to Canada!
