Here is the completed painting I started the other day. A wedding gift for some good friends!

This is the beginning of a painting I am doing for some friends. Just a loose warm under painting. I generally would not paint it so dark but I am planning on a very dark final image so the bold under painting seems appropriate.

Three small acrylic paintings. One was done on commission and the others just for fun!

This is a 6″x6″ acrylic calf painting I recently finished.

This is a small acrylic painting I am doing on commission. It is 6″x6″ and I decided to do a couple of them while I was at it. I will post the second one later in the week!

This is a painting I did ages ago. I was painting over a very coarse texture created with modeling paste.
I have always been a fan of bison, though they are a tragic symbol.
Tonight is the lasts night in my house, I will be back but it occurred to me my cats wouldn’t be back again… I’m painfully sentimental.
Here is how they have changed at the house.

This is an older piece. An experiment in texture, color and paint application. The results were interesting but chaotic.
This is an older painting, when blackbirds were a bit of a series. Once again I was building up heavy textured imagery.

This painting is a few years old. I was working in a very different way back then. Still focused on translucent acrylic colors but I was building up heavy translucent textures. The result was something that looked a lot like encaustic. I found too much time was spent waiting for heavy acrylic mediums and not enough time with a brush. Still there were some interesting results at times.
