I am painting some 12″x9″ loose sunset imagery. Really enjoying the light and atmosphere! I will be creating some larger pieces in this vein soon.

Winter rolls on, that rodent was wildly mistaken! I am working on some vivid sunset paintings this month. I have a show deadline in a few weeks so I am going to dig in.

I have some large square panels I am playing with in my studio!

I am pretty excited about the atmosphere in this painting. It was almost finished last week but I came in with a little more shadow and contrast. It was just the thing.

This is a painting I did in November. Part of an ongoing series.
I did not include this piece in my Sacramento show or send it off to any of the galleries I work with. Really unusual piece but I’m really excited about it. It feels like the beginning of something even if it looks more like the end.

My finished storm collection. Varnished, framed and ready to pack. Two of these will head to Horizon Fine Art Gallery In Jackson, Wyoming. The two on the left will go to private collectors.

This is the painting I had been building to with my 10″ studies of the Kootenai Valley. There is a mighty and powerful river there but I was entranced with the small trickling streams and ditches. Cold but amazing place. I wanted to stay until dark but when we nearly got the car stuck leaving seemed like a pretty good idea!

I had s little commission last week of the northern lights. I decided to do a second painting which I finished over the weekend!
Also I saw a moose Saturday!

I had a little commission painting this week. It was fun trying to create the magical feel of the aurora borealis.
The client is excited. Now I just need to varnish and sign the painting… and wait for the frame to show up!
