Family came over this weekend. They wanted to take a look at my studio. Giving away artwork is a good way to clean out the studio!

This is a loose and simple painting I recently completed. It is a 16″x16″ acrylic inspired by the waterways of the Pacific Northwest!

This cute little rabbit was displaced by a bulldozer from a neighboring property. He showed up as a fearless little guy and hung around a summer and fall back in 2007.

I am growing fond of working on paintings that are 16″x16″, a great size. It allows you enough room for brush freedom and loose work while being small enough that it is easy to manage.
This painting is still a work in progress.

This is a piece that is currently drying. The sky is very soft but the foreground has an interesting dappled texture because the paint beaded up as it started to dry. Odd result but kind of interesting… I’m always excited by unusual paint behavior!

This is a 20″x20″ acrylic painting. I did a few months ago and added it to the scrap heap of misfit paintings. I pulled it out the other day and find I like it a bit better now.

Here is the completed version of the painting!

I live in a beautiful rural setting. I love the wildlife and privacy, but like everything good, I take it for granted.
Rolling along my eyes looking away from the world and into my own dark brain. Something brings the light back, this “forest tunnel” is the kind of thing I have grown blind to. Then in the evening with the headlights on… what could make me happier.
