Three 5″x5″ cloud studies.
I found some small boards that were prepped for painting while unpacking some boxes in my studio… so I painted on them! It is a nice change to change the scale of my work. It is also a reminder how much more I like simple fresh marks on a painting.

This is an 8″x8″ acrylic painting. I have always liked tonalism and an overcast morning really displays that kind of magic. Now that summer is finally here we are seeing beautiful bright mornings, I will play around with some of that imagery, never enough summer days in this short life.
A quick little 10″x10″ painting. The simple theme of light and dark are a consistent pursuit in my work.
I paint with acrylics, I don’t use white or overly opaque pigments so there is a bit of a parallel to watercolor painting. I preserve the bright beneath and essentially darken the entire image. The title of my next show plays into that, I will post about that at a later date.
This weekend I unexpectedly sold this 48″x36″ cow painting. I have mixed feelings about selling it but am excited it is moving to Jackson, Wyoming. A really good friend’s sister purchased it for her house so I hope to see it again someday!
I mailed this 10″x10″ acrylic painting to Indiana this week. I’m staying put but my paintings are enjoying a bit of travel.
I am not actually going to Spain but one of my recent small painting is. I posted a video of this 8″x8″ painting I called ” Everything” on instagram and a fellow DMed me to inquire about purchasing it… and so off to Barcelona it goes.
I am adding more work to the Ugallery website. I sell most of my work through galleries, art shows and individuals directly contacting me but more options can’t hurt.
I just finished painting these 5″x5″ paintings. They are inspired by late afternoon light hitting the forests around Lake Pend Oreille.
I plan on doing a larger painting based on these studies, hopefully I will be able to have that posted by next week.
The moon can be mesmerizingly beautiful. It can also put things in perspective, the size of us the importance of little things…

I am pleased to be sending off five new paintings to the Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento, California. I have been selling work there since the end of 2016. This is an example of instagram having a real benefit rather than simply an ego booster. The gallery saw my work on instagram and reached out to me. They have been really great to work with and hopefully I will make it down there one of these days to see their gallery in person!
