Another small painting exploring light and snow. I walked outside to take a photo in the actual snow but the day is beyond dark. The clouds must be stacked high above.

I often think of myself as a painter of psychological landscapes. As much as I hate to label myself this is a description I have found suits my enthusiasms and interests. Painting is only worthwhile if it is in pursuit of some larger meaning, that is what keeps me digging.

I donβt believe in one path, there are oh so many roads. This loose and energetic little painting was a pleasure.

Today I am finally finishing this large painting. One of a couple big pieces I have in the works.
Update: This painting is now sold!

I finalized this painting and framed it in a floater frame. Today I am shipping it to its new home in Oregon.

So much work to do for my August solo show at Abend Gallery in Denver. I made the time for this little commission. Just putting the finishing touches on the piece, shipping this week.

Final high resolution capture of this ethereal piece.
It really feels like the end of days still the sun is shining. My modest 401k has gone away even as the snow turns back to ground. Finance and health aside the stretching days are filled with light. Thankful this didnβt happen in the darkened depths of Fall.

Nature has no emotion, making it feel very cruel at times. The natural world has and will always be my inspiration, the world is a beautiful place.

I am always intrigued by light and the ethereal nature of clouds.
