I have always been obsessed with clouds. One of my friends is still irritated that he got pulled over on I-90 because I was trying to get him to look at some clouds and distracted him. If I remember right, the clouds were spectacular.

Eye makes a special appearance. I was excited to paint trees catching the morning light. I am hiking early every morning, it is an inspiration.
This summer at my show opening a woman asked me, “do you just try to come up with pretentious titles for your work?” Truth is I don’t really try that hard.
In 4th grade the cutest little girl used to ride on our bus. I tried to sit near her as we all did, she was the sun. She laughed, entertained and generally brightened each day. One winter morning she looked into my eyes and said, “You are like a very sad old man.” My heart collapsed even as other children erupted in laughter.
Those words haunted me across the years. I have tried to be upbeat and find my own laughter. In the end the cute little prophet had it right.
Painting some small works for an upcoming exhibit. Considering a new life as a hand model.
The fatted calf scampered over to the fence. He assumed my presence at the wire signaled it was time for me to feed him! ‘Twas the other way round.
Note: This is a work of fiction. The calf, lovingly called “fatty”, has many sunny days ahead, presumably.
This is a painting I just varnished today. It is an 18″ x 18″ acrylic painting. The unusual textures throughout were predominantly created with a small squeegee and a palette knife. The very short story was something that occurred to me when I was out shooting reference shots of cows in some of the local fields. I felt guilty the way they would come running up to the fence and all I had to offer was a smile…
