Rain and fall leaves, I had an unexpected urge to represent the season.

Wave and light exploration on a canvas panel. The movement of light through the surface of water is hypnotics and soothing to watch. I strive to echo that quality in a simplified and expressive manner.

With a weekend journey down the highway to the National Bison Range, it seemed appropriate to post this final capture of “Tatanka”. It was inspired by a previous outing to this beautiful part of Montana. The painting is now at Abend Gallery in Denver, Colorado.

I really like the color scheme and moody vibes of this painting. As I prepare a lot of giant boards I am going to be going back and forth between small paintings and huge panels. Ultimately I want to create more large scale epic works. The large pieces are much more expensive to make and end up with a large price tag so tougher to sell. Ultimately they are more satisfying and I aim to please myself.

This painting is part of my new collection of works headed to Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina.

I love a dramatic landscape. I have been up before dawn hiking and watching the sun break across the lake. Blasting color through the thick forest. Nature is endlessly inspiring.

A moody piece that is a preview to the dark coming months. I have spent a lot of time painting at this scale. I will be working on much larger pieces in the coming months.

This was taken from a high resolution scan of the painting.

Heartbreaking as it fades.
