A painting inspired by the ridge that blocks much of the low winter sun. We have loads of snow coming which is inspiring a lot of winter artwork this year.
Though the daylight is brief the combination of snow and moon last night made for a magical evening. I guess it’s only a matter of time before I paint some large moonlight related imagery.

This painting is now available at the Ugallery website. It has been a while since I had time to add work to the site.
For now the painting is gracing my bedroom wall. Ugallery sends you a really protective shipping box once it sells. The artist simply prints out a shipping label and off it goes!

Work in progress on this snowbound passage.

Another one of my mini paintings. This piece is off to the Netherlands.

Starting a series of paintings focusing on the forest. I live in snow country so there will be some winter imagery, don’t be alarmed.

Light, color and atmosphere are some of the elements I am obsessed with. So a small sunset painting before I really dig into the winter and forest imagery I am inspired to do.

This summer at my show opening a woman asked me, “do you just try to come up with pretentious titles for your work?” Truth is I don’t really try that hard.
This is a pretty special piece. One of those paintings that felt like it held some kind of magic. I know when I feel that way I have to put it aside.

The other day we received 8″ of snow. It is always startling to wake up to such a dramatic shift in the world.
I abandoned what I was working on in the studio and did a couple moody snow scenes. Fun capturing the vibe right outside my window.
