I am working on a couple large cloudscapes. I like brooding work that is both beautiful and a bit surreal. I think of these works as psychological paintings or dreamscapes.

Well it had to happen. After a couple months of constant snow my paintings followed suit. I am taking on a large winter landscape project but wanted to dive in and play with some small images first. The commission is a different color scheme but it’s good to get my groove on with these first.

Short winter days often bring dramatic conclusions. As pretty as the sunset is looking to the East is often more dramatic. The snow covered mountains get blasted with the final shot of sunlight.
A quick little glimpse into my studio today. This painting is starting to take shape. Mood, mystery and atmosphere always elements I pursue in my work. Have a great weekend.

A new painting in the studio today. This one is lighting up my work space.
I really like these 24”x36” panels, so much so I am prepping four other boards this size at the moment!
This painting is now availability through Abend Gallery in Denver, Colorado.

This is one of the new paintings I am working on in the studio. I have decided to spend my days making large pieces. I am preparing some very large panels in a variety of sizes. Excited to see what will come…

I was happy to learn that this painting was sold through Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina. I believe it was the last of my paintings available at the gallery.

As I work on paintings for my solo show in June, I am thinking about my previous exhibit at Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina. “Color Box Water” was special, it was never on the maybe list for that show (All of the paintings were sold at the gallery).
I am working on a lot of large pieces for the next exhibit. I am also taking a step back from shipping all of my work away to a variety of galleries and or selling as I paint. I am going to assemble a powerful collection and carefully decide what goes and stays. The next solo show is in June, 2022 at RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon.
A studio video to show off this small painting.
