I often find myself painting work I think of as “dreamscapes”. The driving focus of this piece is mood, light and atmosphere. The result not so much a literal translation of scenery but a slightly surreal departure from reality.

An experimental painting from last May. Something I intended to follow further. One of the benefits of looking through past work, a reminder of exploration yet to do.

A little drama and a little beauty to start the week. I had painted a couple smaller pieces with a similar color scheme. Working on a couple new ones that are a bit larger.

I painted this little commission for a woman in the San Juan Islands, a place I dearly love. She had fond memories of the big lakes of North Idaho. She wanted a little painting that captured her magical memories from the summers in the 70’s and 80’s.

An atmospheric painting inspired by the place I live. I am always chasing mystery and magic in my work, this has a bit.

This painting was sold over the weekend. Once I get a frame for it I will be shipping it to Canada.!

A large misty landscape painting. This will most likely be heading to my show at Momentum Gallery in Asheville North Carolina. The exhibit opens in July.

I am always drawn to light and atmosphere. This painting incorporated those elements well.

I framed these small paintings and they just arrived at their new home in Las Vegas, Nevada.
