Panhandle Rainbow
Apparently I am doing a little series of trout paintings! This was not my plan but was inspired by some 10” paintings I created a bit over a year ago. Fish are an intriguing subject with their slick metallic skin and smooth curves. This second painting is also 14”x11”.
In the dark
This is a 14”x11” acrylic painting. There is an intriguing quality to the slick silvery body of a trout, it makes for a compelling subject. They are one of the creatures that live in that big body of water I have become fairly obsessed with so it is nice to pay tribute to the mighty rainbow trout.
Darkening Sky
I recently completed this 14″X11″ acrylic painting. I was very pleased with the feel of this particular piece. I have been on a vacation but I am very eager to get back to the paint!
Beginnings
This is another 24″x24″ painting I very recently completed as part of a commission.
Bold lighting elements and soft moody atmospheric work is seemingly simple but is very challenging to paint with acrylic and open acrylic paint.
I am drawn to enigmatic imagery and though this subject is straight forward it still has a bit of mystery…. that’s what it’s all about for me.

Studio Work
I have been busy balancing my time and mostly burning up the too few summer days. This is a photo of the clean portion of my studio!
I am working on a pretty exciting commission, four big water paintings (24″x24″) inspired by Lake Pend Oreille. Hoping to have them finished by the weekend, this is one of four.
Hong Kong
This week I mailed off two paintings to a new collector in Hong Kong. Two of my favorite water paintings, funny to think they will be on a wall so far from Idaho.
Summer Sun
This is another small painting (8″x8″). Reducing everything down to the simple basics of sunshine and water.
It is summer after all! There are only so many for each of us, word is less every year…
