In 4th grade the cutest little girl used to ride on our bus. I tried to sit near her as we all did, she was the sun. She laughed, entertained and generally brightened each day. One winter morning she looked into my eyes and said, “You are like a very sad old man.” My heart collapsed even as other children erupted in laughter.
Those words haunted me across the years. I have tried to be upbeat and find my own laughter. In the end the cute little prophet had it right.

One of four paintings I am shipping to Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina. This is a new gallery for me, excited about the opportunity!

Happy Halloween! I painted this last November it seems to have the right vibe for today.

While picking up my Vashon Island show I saw friends and family. I was fortunate to carve pumpkins with my sister’s family! That is me in the foreground.

I sold this after the show ended. I have discovered that Art Centers are a bad way to sell artwork. They can be a fun social event but for artists trying to make a living, I haven’t had any good experiences. Selling work through a small gallery is likely to be a better way to sell art. If you can sell work yourself no one is taking 50% of the sale!

These three paintings are off to Radius Gallery in Missoula, Montana. Part of a holiday exhibit.

For people not familiar with me and my work I made a grid. Six of these nine paintings were done in 2019. I have been painting my entire life but have been painting full time now for exactly one year. Thanks to those of you that have helped support my efforts!

Painting a couple of cow portraits for a semi local Idaho gallery.

One of four paintings I will be framing and shipping to Abend Gallery in Denver Colorado. This piece is for a small works exhibit at the gallery in November.

An ancient light casting warmth and fear. Dancing to a rhythm it blends into the night. The question lost with a crack and spark.
