Never break

Human Chain 24”x24” acrylic

The sun is hiding behind the clouds today. It seemed ideal for photography so I took part of the morning to photograph some art.

Abend Gallery in Denver wanted a high resolution photograph of this recent painting.

Peace and Gold 20”x16” acrylic

A painting from December that I sold during my February solo show at Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento, California. We returned from that trip in a night blizzard, white knuckles but it worked out!

Disappearing 20”x16” acrylic

I have always been a fool for that last glimmer of light. Beauty and melancholy side by side, both heartbreakers.

Eruption

Raising Earth 16”x20” acrylic

When I was a kid we could see the eruption of Mount St Helens from our neighborhood. That date, May 18th, 1980 is one I always remember. This isn’t supposed to be that eruption but I wanted to capture the strange power and force of a rising volcanic eruption.
